Since 1996, the Madison County Historical Society has been honoring the hop growing heritage of Madison County,  with Hop Fest,  a celebration of history, local food, hops and beer, on the grounds of the Cottage Lawn Museum in Oneida, NY.  Hop Fest proceeds support the educational programming of the Madison County Historical Society.

Madison County Hop Fest 2014 will be the weekend of Sept. 12 and 13.

Celebrate the Madison County Hop Fest’s 25th Annual on September 17-18, 2021 with us!

The Madison County Hop Fest celebrates the past, present, and prosperous future of the hop industry in Madison County and throughout NYS. At the 25th Annual Madison County Hop Fest we will have programs about hop culture in NYS, home brewing demonstrations, exhibits on the history of hops, vendors selling hop-related merchandise, hop farmers, beer clubs, paired beer dinner, food trucks, raffle, live music, sampling of a variety of craft beer, and the crowning of Hop King 2021!

There is no admission to attend the Madison County Hop Fest. There is an admission fee for the Paired Beer Dinner and Craft Beer Sampling. Participants must be 21+ years of age to sample the craft beer at the Hop Fest.  The Madison County Hop Fest is made possible from the generous support from The Gorman Foundation, White’s Farm Supply, Inc., Cricket Wireless, Tanner Insurance Agency Inc., Liberty Tabletop, and Hartman Enterprises, Inc. The Madison County Historical Society is a nonprofit organization that operates both a museum and the Mary King Research Library located at 435 Main Street in Oneida.  

 

COVID-19 Guidelines for the

Madison County Hop Fest

Everyone attending the Madison County Hop Fest this year must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and provide proof of vaccination, i.e. original vaccination card, copy of vaccination card (must be a clear picture of vaccination card on your phone), or Excelsior pass to security prior to entering the Madison County Historical Society’s grounds on September 18. Attendees at the Paired Beer Dinner on Sept. 17 at Foothill Hops Farm Brewery must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and provide proof of vaccination, i.e. original vaccination card, copy of vaccination,(must be a clear picture of vaccination card on your phone), or Excelsior pass upon entry to the brewery. The Madison County Hop Fest will be presented in accordance with applicable public health requirements as of the date of the event, affecting capacity, attendance prerequisites, procedures, and other preventative measures. Should the Hop Fest be canceled due to state and local rules and regulations prohibiting events to occur as a result of COVID-19, then a full refund will be honored.
